We happened upon Bolivar St BBQ today and it was amazing. The brisket was perfect, the okra was spot on, the cowboy beans were the best I’ve had, and the spicy macaroni and cheese was yummy. ~ K. Rider Review 4/27/17 Facebook
My husband and I are very pick about BBQ and this food is SO good! Their sliced brisket is amazing. The owners and workers are very friendly, remembered us the 2nd time we came in! Love it! ~ R.Covington 4/9/17 Facebook
My family and I went there just for dinner just looking for a nice evening and good BBQ, and I honestly have to say that was the BEST BBQ I have EVER had. Very clean environment, loved the awesome music playing as well. Just an all around great place! Cant wait to come back!! ~ L.Turner 7/23/17 Facebook
I’m not a BBQ lover at all. THIS BBQ made me a BBQ lover!! My mind was blown with everything I ate. I had to try it all so I ate off everyone’s plate! Wow! ~ S.Ridenour 2/9/17 Facebook
Ribs, brisket, jalapeno sausage was awesome…. BUT the jalapeno brisket Mac and cheese was PERFECT. I had to get a pint to go. All family recipes. Will be back and Will bring my family and friends. Extremely friendly staff. ~ S. Wright 5/14/17 Facebook
Best BBQ I have ever had in my life! The bbq sauce is wonderful but the brisket is so good you wont want to use it! ~ D.Wooten 6/17/17 Facebook
My husband and I recently moved into Sanger. We finally had a night to go downtown. Stopped in and my goodness AMAZING!! We had the loaded brisket fries and the brisket and pulled pork. We also had the Mac and cheese and potato salad. Portions were huge. Ended up taking home the brisket and pulled pork. Service was absolutely amazing itself. Brittany assisted us and went over the menu. We will be going a lot more. Plus, the decor is awesome itself. Love the old signs. This place is a must, if you haven’t gone in!! ~ 3/28/17 Facebook
We stopped in for some BBQ to go. Wow! What a treat. We had brisket, pork ribs, jalapeño and cheese sausage, and pulled pork. Our sides were potato salad, cowboy beans, brisket jalapeño macaroni and cheese, and fried okra. Every single thing was delicious! Some of the best BBQ we have ever had. Great smoke flavor, moist, tangy, and awesome sauce. We will be driving an hour to come back here! ~ L.R, 7/1/17 Yelp
Where to begin is the question.I had no idea that brisket could be flavorful, tender and moist all at the same time. They nailed it perfectly as well as other items. Their turkey was the same delightful experience. The ribs did not require any sauce, perfectly seasoned and tender.I tried their mac&cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, green beans and baked beans. I kept trying to decide which one I liked the best. They were all equally delicious, all winners. The sausage is made with the right amount of heat, you could taste the love that went into the preparation.I was fortunate to get a tour of their spotless kitchen where the magic begins. These guys clearly love what they do and it shows.Toured the smoke house where I got the lowdown and how it all begins.A new respect for all the prep that goes into their craft. The only negative is that there is no Bolivar St. BBQ in Dallas! I have a feeling that we won’t have to wait very long before that happens. Bravo guys, well done.I’ll be back bringing friends to experience the very best BBQ I’ve ever had. ~ M.M. 6/11/17 Yelp
These guys have got it right. The brisket is perfect, by Aaron Franklin standards; and that’s saying a lot. Perfect bark and great flavor. The sides were really good too. Josh is the Pitmaster and knows his stuff to perfection. This is a hidden gem north of Denton. I highly recommend. Nice people, nice atmosphere, and great BBQ. Yes, I tasted the sauce and it was really good too; but you won’t need it. The smothered BBQ fries can be shared by 4 people easy. Joe is a great host! Trust me, if you like BBQ, and if you are a bit of a BBQ snob, this is your place north of Denton. ~ G.P. 7/24/17 Yelp
This is my go to BBQ place, great food and great service. The banana pudding is amazing, the brisk is tender and moist. Make sure and try the home made sides the are also great. ~ J.B. 7/14/17 Yelp
This is a great place to take the family. The brisket is so good! Everything we ordered was fabulous!! The atmosphere is fun and inviting. The kiddos loved the food and so did we. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back! You must take a trip to Sanger and eat here!! You will not regret it! ~ M.L. 6/15/17 Yelp
I’m a native Texan woman that has had more BBQ than most, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had better brisket in my LIFE! It was beyond moist and flavorful! Not only was the brisket out of this world, but really all of their side dishes were amazing. I had the spicy brisket mac N cheese, pulled pork n’ beans, potatoe salad, and banana pudding. ALL OF IT WAS 5-Star WORTHY! To top of the great tasting food, the venue is well decorated and clean. Oh and if you get to meet the Cooks, you’ll definitely leave with a smile. ~ E.R. 6/12/17 Yelp
We had the pleasure of experiencing Bolivar Street BBQ today and we were blown away. Excellent BBQ in the small town square of Sanger, Texas. I had the chopped BBQ brisket sandwich and my wife and son had the BBQ cheese fries. Both were excellent with just the right amount of smoky flavor and the perfect compliment of BBQ sauce. The entire staff was truly appreciative of our business and extremely pleasant and helpful. We will be back and soon! ~ Rangertex 7/16/17 TripAdvisor
I hope this doesn’t sound too much like an advertisement, but this has become one of our regular go-to restaurants. The state of BBQ in Sanger was sad before they opened. Very sad. Saying they have the best BBQ in Sanger might prompt chuckles, but it is also among the best in North Texas. Their brisket, in particular, is excellent brisket, among the best in the state. Some of the things they do with brisket are off the charts – try their over the top American Egg Roll – brisket with sides, rolled in a tortilla and fried. Really great! They also have a fried Peanut Butter and Jelly for kids of all ages, A delightful mess, a three napkin meal! We’ve received great service every time we’ve been there. The people are friendly and gracious. We’re been served quickly. They drop by your table to make sure you’re happy. That said, it’s a BBQ joint, not the Ritz. No white table cloths, linen napkins or fine china. The food is served on aluminum foil or in cardboard containers, which is typical of Texas BBQ joints. And that’s as authentic as it gets. We probably wind up there 2 or 3 times a week and often take friends there. So far, they’ve all been happy too. ~ Kalvan 5/12/17 – TripAdvisor
